DIY Vintage Spring 'Garden' Booklet

Hello everyone, I hope you are taking the time to go out there whenever the sun peeks its warm little self out and catch some lovely warm rays. I have! And as I stroll along the perimeter of my garden, Ive been pulling out a few weeds here and there and admiring the new blooms on my peach tree. She's a beauty this time of the year! She inspired me to pull out the  Garden stencil by Kaisercraft  from the  Making Daisy Chains  September 2018 Kit and play! See what I mean!!! But I'm jumping ahead of myself! This is the stencil I'm talking about. I gathered some heavy weight water color paper and  Distress Inks  and  Oxides  in my craft room and sat down one warm afternoon and enjoyed myself thoroughly. I have 4 stenciling techniques I wanted to share with you. My card front panels are cut to 4.25" x 5.5". Stenciling Technique #1 - Basic 2 Tone Stenciling In this technique, I coloured in the flowers and the green

Gorjuss 'Mini' Art Journal 2018 ~ September ~ Look on the bright side

Hi everyone, Welcome back to another art journal layout in my Mini Gorjuss Art Journal. This month I used stamp  No 16. Puddles of Love. With a little bit of spring in mind (it's sunny one day and cold and rainy the next) and how I get through days when Im feeling a little 'stormy'. The background was created using Faber Castell Gelatos and mixing with gesso. I 'swirled' the gesso on to create a wind / rain appearance in the background. Love how that turned on. Next, I used some a puffy cloud die and cut out a few clouds in different sizes. I also pulled out this bauotful glass shard product called Ice Resin. I mixed it with dimensional paste and applied it to the clouds. I then gave the clouds a shine with Perfect Pearls for added color. For the illusion of 'puddles of rain', I added Mod Lodge under her feet and added a layer of Ice Resin. You can watch the process video on my YT channel HERE

Hello Gorjuss Spring Album ~ Echo Park 'Hello Spring' & Santoro Gorjuss

Hello everyone, Welcome spring and welcome everyone!  I've been waiting to get to this pile of envelopes sitting on my craft table - I just don't know how I end up with so many envelopes!  I think it's because I just add cards into presents that I gift wrap and I always forget the envelope.  Anyway! I designed this simple and interactive envelope album and decorated it with the Echo Park Hello Spring collection papers from the September Kit.  I also decided to make it a little gorgeous by adding a little Gorjuss to make it a Hello Gorjuss Spring Album (I know- a bit corny). You will need 4 envelopes for the base of this album. Make sure they are all the same size. Start with the first envelope and add adhesive (in my case, PVA glue) as shown: Then attach the flap of the second envelope to the flap of the first envelope. Make sure you keep the crease of the flap in a straight line with the edge of the envelope. Next, join the flap
