Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Layout - #Happy

Hello everyone, Today I decided to time myself whilst making a memory keeping layout in my traveler's notebook insert to see just how long it takes me to make one of these things! I used 2 x Kaisercraft 6"x6" paper pads: - Attitude !  - #Me My favourite paper is this one!! Love this urban city sketch! It ties in so perfectly with my photographs. This was a gorgoues day that my son and I had along the Perth foreshore where he was pretending to 'lean on buildings'. Next, we went for a little lunch at a cafe and I took some pictures of him that I wanted to document. The sentiments I picked out matched my feelings! Plus some journaling to make it extra personal :) Here is the whole layout :) Check out the process video  HERE xxAmira

Traveler's Notebook - Memory Keeping Layout - Heart and Soul

Hello everyone, I sat down to make a quick layout in my traveler's notebook using this photo of my mom. My objective in this layout was to use up as much scrap paper from my scrap bucket as I could so I started by matching papers to the colors of my photo. I decided to create a cluster of doily, tag and a few stickers around the photo. Next, I added a sticker which replaced journaling in this layout and which pretty much captured my thoughts. I also found some washi which also felt like the right sentiment and which I placed along the bottom of the right hand side layout to close the slight gap there. I found a project life card that ended up being the title of my layout and which pretty much captured the sentiment of the piece. The other wonderful feature in this layout are the fussy cut flowers which I strategically (and painstakingly) placed on both pages. Here is the final layout :  an ode to my beautiful mom who always

Art Journal Swap Series ~ Collaboration with Suzanne Johnston ~ Where thou art

Hello everyone, So glad to be getting to this Art Journal Swap with my awesome friend Suzanne Johnson . This is my second layout in our book. You can find the first layout HERE The prompt for this layout are the bird die-cuts Suzanne sent me. I started off by collaging pieces of paper from my scraps using Modpodge, followed by a layer of gesso. Next came a layer of watercolors, followed by another layer of white acrylic paint softened with a wet cloth. From there, I fussy cut some flowers out of an old G45 collection of floral paper. I then set about stencilling leaves and stems and inking the edges and applying script stamping all over to make the pieces more cohesive. Next it was time for the die-cut birds. I coloured them in using my watercolors and then added them to the piece. The quote came from the G45 scrap paper I used. I finished off the edges with some Nuvo gold glimmer paste. You can watch the e

Pocket Page Notebook Swap 2018 ~ #1 ~ 5 Things about me

Hi everyone, I am so excited to be participating in the  Pocket Page Notebook Swap 2018 over on the Pocket Page Notebook Community FB Group. Together, my partner Angela and I have a notebook each and we will be sending these notebooks back and forth until they are full of layouts. Pocket Page Notebooks are very unique in that there is a clear pocket page between each double spread layout that you can insert things into.  They are the brain concept of Michelle from the Stamp Spot . Today I finished my first layout and I am SO pleased with the result. There are essentially 2 double layouts here- 4 layouts! The first is the layout on the left. The second one is the front of the pocket page on the right of the first double spread layout. Over the page, the third layout is the back of the pocket page on the left of the second double spread layout. Finally, the fourth layout is the page on the right of the second double spread.

12 Gorjuss Mini Paper Clips for 2018 ~ March ~ Take me away

Hi everyone ! Welcome back to the 12 Mini Gorjuss Paper Clips! It's March and this month, I chose Stamp  No.59 'Flying above it all' Gorjuss Mini stamp by Santoro . I have already created an art journal page with this stamp which you can find  HERE and a process video for that which you can also find  HERE Once again, I am using my jumbo 97mm paper clips  I first make a base for my paper clip out of white card stock which measures 3.25" x 8" scored @ 4". Next, I use some of this vellum which I have been hoarding for some time. Dear Lizzy Neapolitan vellum Because this character is riding a bird, this scenery has to be one of a sky so I reached for my rainbow and cloud die set and created a rainbow out of 6 colors of card stock. Next, I stamped the girl 4 times and coloured in various sections  Base: Color in the bird and the girl's hair Layer 2: Color in the girl's skin, hair and dress Layer 3:

Take 5 Art Journal Layout - Always Look Forward

Hello Crafty Friends, I'm back for another journal layout for the February Prompts for #take5art . The prompts this month are: -Napkin - Black/white/grey - Add butterfly / dragonfly - Apply paint with card - Use bubble wrap The journal I am working in is this blue and green watercolor art journal I made out of watercolor paper. If you want to make your own, I have a DIY video for you  HERE This journal layout turned out to be a black and white theme- which I LOVE! And I love the fairy garden theme (which may or may not be a subconscious fault of watching too many Lolly Palooza fairy tutorials LOL) I did break my black/white theme but adding pink cheeks (I couldn't resist it). Fairies ..... and butterflies .... I love the splash of gold from Heidi Swapp's 'Shine'. Here is the final layout!! Check out the process video HERE Thank you for stopping by. xxAmiraInOz

Art Journal Swap Series ~ Lets go to Paris ~ Collaboration with Lolly Palooza

So excited to be starting off this Art Journal Swap Series with my good friend Lolly Palooza!! Lolly sent me some die -cuts at the start of the year and our aim is to swap an entire art journal filled with wonderful art for 2018. I used her Eiffel Tower die-cut and went to work inspired by this image which I found on google. I used Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks to create the background and after a few trials and tribulations (you will have to catch the video to see what Im talking about) - I was pleased with the final outcome. Look at that gorgeous full moon!! Love the sentiment this piece evokes :)  Catching some of the flourish stamping in the background plus that lovely gold embossing. The bottom of the Eiffel Tower which gave me such grief in the process video. Thanks for stopping by. Check out the process video HERE What do you think? Should I have left it at that first stage or given it a go? This re
