Art Journal Layout ~ Best Friends Forever ~ Collaboration with Lolly Palooza

Hi everyone, Back again with another layout in my art journal swap collaboration with Lolly Palooza. In this episode, I create a scene using the "Apple of my eye" collection by Jayne Nestorenko for Clarity stamps.  This adds to the stamped layout I made on the right of the page which you can see me build in the July Gorjuss Art spread HERE   I used my Prima Watercolor pans in this spread. Check out the process video for this layout HERE xxAmira P.S. I was very upset to hear that the wonderful Jayne Nestorenko of Clarity Stamps passed away last year. Barbara Grey broke the news on her blog and talked about how she wanted to do something positive in response. She and her husband joined the 'Walk all over Cancer' movement and encouraged people to walk 10K steps a day- a subject near and dear to my heart as this is one of my personal goals. Please do head over to that blog post and check it out HERE   ———

12 Gorjuss Mini Paper Clips for 2018 ~ July ~ HOME SWEET HOME

Hi everyone, To make this month's paper clip, I pulled out a few items from my stash along with my pile of paper scraps. Along with this month's chosen Gorjuss Mini Stamp No.10- Purrfect Love , I chose: - Sizzix Thinlet - House die - Poppy Stamps - Country Fence - Poppy Stamps - Strolling Kitties I also pulled out my box of buttons and charms as finishing touches. My canvas is a piece of Kraft card stock that measures 3.5" x 8", scored and folded in half. I find papers in my scrap bucket and start assembling my mini Gorjuss paper clip art. The 'making it happen' element is a sticker from the I am by Simple Stories sticker pack and I top pff the paper clip with a Home Sweet Home ribbon by Americal Crafts and thread a 'bunch of keys' charm through the paper clip. Check out my process video HERE Thank you for stopping by. xx Amira

Gorjuss 'Mini' Art Journal 2018 ~ July ~ Little Cottage

Hi everyone, The theme this month for my 12 Mini Gorjuss Girls of 2018 is houses/ homes. I have this 'Build a country scene' stamp set that I have never touched in my collection so I thought it would be a good challenge to pull it out  and create a scene and incorporate it with this month's mini Gorjuss stamp - No.10- Purrfect Love. As always, I will be working in my DIY watercolor art journal. I have a tutorial for you if you want to make one yourself. Check it out  HERE   Check out my process video to see how I created this month's art journal layout. I used my Prima Watercolor pans to add color in this spread. And I added some extra details with my Nuvo crystal drops. I found this perfect sentiment (from Tim Holtz sticker clippings) which is the title for this layout. Here is my finished art page. You can find my process video HERE Thank you for stopping by xx Amira

Geli Plate Printing ~ Stamping, Paint and Ink

Hi everyone, Are you ready for another round of gelli plate printing? This time, I wanted to show that you could use your stamps in combination with your paints and ink pads to make amazing backgrounds on your  Gel Printing Plate .  The stamp I am using is this  beautiful red rubber Woodlands stamp by Darkroom door  in combination with the  Echo Park Woodland Stencil Check out  my first blog  and  YT video  to see a more detailed step by step process. Technique #1- Create an empty window This technique gives you 3 beautiful backgrounds to work with. To create an empty window to stamp in (if you do not want to stamp on the gel plate), brayer on a thin layer of paint or ink. Here, I am using the  Hero arts Winter Ink Cubes Next, place a piece of paper slightly larger than your stamp in the middle of the plate. Add the stencil on top of the paper Pull your first print by burnishing a piece of paper (6"x8.5") we

Geli Plate Printing ~ Stencils, Paint and Ink

Hi everyone, Today I am pulling out my  Gelli Plate by Ranger to show you how you can use stencils with acrylic paint as well as ink cubes to make some lovely backgrounds for cards or just for the sake of satisfying a little bit of color play.  And just to let you know, I also purchased the  medium brayer  to supplement my small brayer at home and I also purchased the storage tin so I can be sure that my gelli plate does not get damaged amongst my crushing load of supplies *wink wink*. Gelli printing is my favourite way to pass time and get some creative juices flowing!! I am reaching for my  6" x 6" A Perfect Winter - Winter Aspen stencil by Echo Park  to help add a winter woodland feel to my backgrounds Acrylic Paint Backgrounds I start off by choosing acrylic paints in brown, green and blue ... and happily start brayer-ing to achieve very thin layers of paint. I then apply the stencil,  Then paper (which
