 Hi everyone, When I first opened this kit, a crazy thought ran in my head!! And that thought was - Wouldn't it be awesome if I could collage shoes with these superhero papers? I felt brave enough to give it a try! So, I skipped out to K-mart and bought canvas shoes.  The first thing I needed to do was make a 1:1 mixture of PVA glue and water. Next, I unlaced my shoes and scrunched up some magazine and stuffed it into my shoe so that the canvas was stretched taut. Next, I cut out pieces of the scrapbooking paper that I thought would look good on the shoes. Then I started adding them on. When it came to the front of the shoe, I snipped along the curve to allow the paper to curve nicely with the curve of the shoe. At times, I used my bone folder to work it in and at times I used my nails. I also applied the collage to the tongue of the shoe. Hey Everyone, Welcome back to part 2 of this comic book series. Part 2 is all about making the insert for the comic book and for this, I used the Kaitlyn Lizzardi travelers notebook die -set to create my comic pages. I used water color paper to create 3 inserts Which are to go into the cover that we created in PART 1.  Designing the inserts To design my inserts, I looked in my stash for super hero related stamp sets. The first one is this stamp set by My Favourite Things - You're super and the other is a clear stamp set by Fiskars - Kapow Perfect for making your own comic book right? I sued a combination of my stamping platform and a stamping block to design my pages. After I stamped out each insert, I then went ahead and added color to the pages. Hey everyone, Have you ever wanted to make your own comic book? I didn't- until I held in my hands this #wecanbeheroes kit that Aunty Vera put together for August. This  Abstract skyline stamp by Hero Arts  is absolutely inspirational and making a comic book with it is so easy. My Tim Holtz stamping platform was key here as I needed a large enough stamping block (best investment ever). I stamped it out using black archival ink as well as using Versa Mark and fine embossing powder which I then heat set. The reason why I stamped out a whole lot of these is because I wanted to cut each building up and prop it up with foam tape. The 3D effect did take some time but it looks SO COOL. I used my alcohol markers here. I used a combination of cool greys, warm greys and blue grey Kaiser Fusion markers.
