Aussie Youtube Hop April 2018 ~ Blessed Fall ~ Art Journal Layout

Hi everyone,

I am so privileged to be participating in the Aussie Youtube Hop this April (2018).

For this Hop, I wanted to make an art journal layout all about Autumn / Fall.

I grabbed my Jane Davenport Acrylic DIY Face Stamp and had some fun making my own faces until I decided on the perfect one for 'this layout'.

Here are a few other faces I made (coming in another project soon!).

Next, I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaf Die (from the April Kit) to cut out some leaves using Autumn coloured card stock.

I also used the Lindy's spray (also in the Kit) to color in some patterned paper that I'd die-cut leaves out of.

I played around with the arrangement of the leaves as a border in Dylusions A5 Creative Journal.

(This closed eye girl was a close runner up to being selected. She looks so serene!).

But the background looked so blank that I knew I needed to make a background before I could go any further.

Now it's time to layer the outside with those leaves.

Next, its time to think about adding that beautiful face.

I grabbed my Prima Decadent Pie Watercolor Set and started colouring her in and finished off by arranging leaves to replace her hair.

Here is how she turns out- I love her!

And here is the right hand side of the layout, complete with sentiment from the embellishment pack (from the April Kit).

For the left hand side, I cut away the letters from the cut-apart sheet that said 'Fall' and placed it cenre page.

The leaf arrangement looked too neat, so I added some 'texture' to the layout by stamping with my script stamp and adding (Heidi Swap's Shine) gold drips for a more 'creative and not neat' look.
