Welcome to Australia ~ Mama Kangaroo and Joey ~ Cottage Cutz

Hi everyone, I am wrapping up my Australian Journal Series for Aunty Vera's November Kit #cantyouhearthethunder but I just wanted to make one more quick project using this cute die by Cottage Cutz. I cut Mama and Joey out using 190 gsm smooth paper and I show you all the little bits and how they come together to make this cute die-cut. I won't lie- there were a LOT of little bits - were they eyes? ears? noses? Be prepared! To see me put it together, head on over to the video via the link (below). I ended up colouring this pair using my alcohol markers .. But I also experimented with different shades of brown using water colors as well as adding glossy accents- because, you know, no 2 Mamas are the same right? After that, I decided to decorate the front of one of my booklets with these cuties! I pulled out the Nuvo Crystal Drops in  Metallic Copper Penny  ,  the  Australiana Mini Wooden Flourish Pack ...

12 Gorjuss Paper Clips of 2018 ~ November ~ Find your magic

Hi everyone, The stamp I chose this month is No.2 - New Heights and for the paper clip design, I decided to go with the book theme already evoked by the image where the little gorjuss girl is standing on a pike of books. If you missed the art journal layout I did earlier using this stamp, please check out the process video HERE I started by stamping a whole lot of faux eco stained papers with my Kaisercraft script stamp One of these papers, gets glued down to the base of the paper clip, the remaining 3 end up with a hole in them. To do this, I poke a hole with my pen from the back to the front and curl up the edges (see video for a better explanation) I end up with 3 layers of torn pages to make it look like the girl is coming out of the pages. Next the Gorjus little girl goes on there and I have propped her up with 3D foam tape. To cover up the inconsistent paper sizes along the top and bottom, I added this colourful ribbon whi...

Critters Down Under ~ Garden Art ~ Lawn Fawn Embellishments

Hey everyone, I am totally inspired by the November Kit from Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft. The first thing I thought of was making little embellishments for my little succulent pots using this cute stamp by Lawn Fawn. It is called Critters Down Under and you can find it  HERE So I stamped them out (using Lawn Fawn black Ink) and coloured them in (using Koi Sakura water colors ) and fussy cut them out (with my cutter bee scissors). After they were fussy cut, I also added al ayer of Dimensional Magic (Mod Podge brand). I used the sign from this  Bear & Sign Cottage Cutz die  from my stash from an earlier kit and attached a tooth pick using hot glue. I also used the stamp from this  Open Road stamp set  from my stash from an earlier kit To create these cute tooth pick embellishments which I then put into each of my succulent pots. These make great gifts to ...

12 Gorjuss Mini Art Journal for 2018 ~ November ~ New Heights Down Under

Hi everyone, It's November and I have gone along with Aunty Vera's theme of Australiana this month in my Gorjuss Mini Art Journal spread. The stamp I chose this month is No.2 - New Heights and I've paired it up with Lawn Fawn's Critters Down Under stamp for a Sheila in Aus episode (LOL- you will get it when you watch the video). I cant believe it's November already!!  Only one more empty page in this journal and she is complete! What an accomplishment :) To see how I made the background and coloured in the characters, please check out my YT video (link below). I adore the stack of critters with the Gorjuss girl on top :) With Mr Koala, napping casually in the tree behind them And Mrs Kookaburra watching on lovingly. And here is what the whole page looks like. Obviously, no room for a sentiment but I have called this layout 'New Heights Down Under' You can watch the process Video HERE Have a g...
