Gorjuss 'Mini' Art Journal 2018 ~ December ~ Do all things with love

Hi everyone, We have reached the month of December and here is the last art journal layout in this Gorjuss mini art journal series. Mixed emotions :) So thankful to have done it and so proud of this little book of mini layouts. Also super grateful to you all for tuning in every month and for your wonderful words of support and encouragement. It has been a blast. The stamp I chose this month is No.55 - All these words and I chose a sentiment that I want to leave you with and one which I have definitely adopted over the past few years- Do all things with love. With love, we can find patience, strength and a determination to do what needs to be done for ourselves and for those around us. I want to extend to you the warmest of wishes this holiday season. I wish you health, safety and love in every part of your life. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate the season, and I hope to see you in 2019. Check out the process video  HERE Some items used i...

Gorjuss 'Mini' Art Journal 2018 ~ September ~ Look on the bright side

Hi everyone, Welcome back to another art journal layout in my Mini Gorjuss Art Journal. This month I used stamp  No 16. Puddles of Love. With a little bit of spring in mind (it's sunny one day and cold and rainy the next) and how I get through days when Im feeling a little 'stormy'. The background was created using Faber Castell Gelatos and mixing with gesso. I 'swirled' the gesso on to create a wind / rain appearance in the background. Love how that turned on. Next, I used some a puffy cloud die and cut out a few clouds in different sizes. I also pulled out this bauotful glass shard product called Ice Resin. I mixed it with dimensional paste and applied it to the clouds. I then gave the clouds a shine with Perfect Pearls for added color. For the illusion of 'puddles of rain', I added Mod Lodge under her feet and added a layer of Ice Resin. You can watch the process video on my YT channel HERE ...

Gorjuss 'Mini' Art Journal 2018 ~ June ~ A friend is the nicest thing

Hi Everyone, I am back with the June layout for my 'Mini' Art Journal 2018. I will be working in my DIY watercolor art journal. I have a tutorial for you if you want to make one yourself. Check it out  HERE   For this layout I went with Stamp No.39 'The Lost Heart' Gorjuss Mini stamp by Santoro.   I was inspired by her teddy bear! Also, the fact that she was all sad and dark made me think that she needed a burst of sunshine in her life so I reached for this Geo Quarters sunburst stencil by Kaisercraft. I also reached for the yellow from my Distress Crayons and some Americana Acrylic Paint in the color dolphin (aka grey). After the background was finished, I used my Stampaholic to stamp out the Gorjuss girl and a whole stack of teddy bears from Kaisercraft's 'Teddy Bear Picnic' stamp set. I used my Koi Sakura water color palette to do some relaxing colouring. I gave her a red over-coat so that sh...

Gorjuss 'Mini' Art Journal 2018 ~ March ~ Be the girl who decided to go for it

Hello crafty friends, I am back with the March layout for my 'Mini' Art Journal 2018. I will be working in my DIY watercolor art journal. I have a tutorial for you if you want to make one yourself. Check it out  HERE For this layout I decided to use Stamp  No.59 'Flying above it all' Gorjuss Mini stamp by Santoro . Because she is an 'arial' image, I decided it was really important to make a predominantly sky layout. For this, I used my Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks. To achieve my sky background, I used  - Sky, - Night, - Black Watch the process video (link below to see how I achieved the 'motion' with a flat brush). I also used the Scribble sticks to color in most of the image (except the skin) For the bird, I used turquoise, the dress was blackberry , the bird's cheek is magenta and the hair is black. For the skin, I reverted to my Prima watercolor set. Next, I decided to use this pretty die b...

Gorjuss 'Mini' Art Journal 2018 ~ February ~ and let it fly away

Hello crafty friends, I am back with the February layout for my 'Mini' Art Journal 2018. I will be working in my DIY watercolor art journal. I have a tutorial for you if you want to make one yourself. Check it out  HERE For this layout I decided to use No.57 'Little Heart' Gorjuss Mini stamp by Santoro. This is her stamped out with Jet Black Archival Ink. And this is her coloured up using my Koi Sakura Watercolors. I wanted her to be holding an element so I decided to die-cut this bunch of balloons. I also wanted her to have a little side-kick and how cute is THIS little guy! Here he is coloured in :) For the background, I chose this beautiful art napkin that reminds me of Tuscany. The field of yellow is exactly what I was after.  I did layer this with more gesso and some yellow acrylic paint. I did feel like I needed to mute down the background as it was not allowing my foregro...
