Love Bug ~ A beginner's tutorial to stamping

Hello Crafty Friends, Today I am focusing on this stamp set from Aunty Vera's February Kit. It's the  Love Bug  clear stamp set by Jillibean Soup and Hampton Art. I wanted to use this stamp to create a beginner's guide to stamping. I wanted to show you how I 'see' stamp sets when I make cards. I hope by sharing with you my stamping experience, that you will be able to grab any stamp set and start creating cards easily. This stamp set can be broken into 3 groups: - Sentiments - Main elements - Filler elements There are 4 sentiments in this stamp set: - Don't worry, bye happy - Love Bug - Happy Bug Day - Bugs and kisses There are 5 main elements: - The lady bug - The butterfly - The worm - The bee - The dragon fly And there are 4 hearts of different sizes ( one of them is an outline only). So lets make 5 cards, one for each of the main elements and I'll show you some techniques for making really ...

TN Memory Keeping Layout ~ Epic

Hi everyone, I'm back today with my next layout in my TN memory Keeping Series. I am working in my DIY TN Inserts. If you are interested in making one yourself, check out my  tutorial   Today is an ode to my Fitbit Adventures :) In this layout I use mainly scrap patterned paper and layer with a acetate and washi tape. And pepper my white space with a whole lot of stickers and puffy hearts & stars. The puffy 'epic' expresses my emotions for my picture. Here is my whole layout :) To listen to the story behind my picture and to watch me make this layout, check out my process video  HERE Do you have a Fitbit? Whats your daily goal and how often do you smash it? Let me know in the comments below. I love hearing from you. xxAmira

12 Tags of 2015 – March

Hi Everyone, Its March and yes, I am here to show you my March Tag inspired by Tim Holtz. For those of you not familiar with this challenge, please take the tour over on the website here . Here is Tim's tag for March: This tag was a simple one to make in the end despite all the elements. First, create a mixed media background then clear emboss a stamp (stamped with black ink). Then, use texture paste and emboss with gold embossing powder and finally add your embellishments. Here is mine: I still went with the butterfly theme but totally made it my own. I added the #3 to signify March. And a wooden butterfly embellishment to match the stamp. You can't see it very clearly here, but you can faintly see washi tape peering here and there from under the paint background...so lovely. The big butterfly was an old brooch given to me so I cut off the pin and added it here. I also added some buttons to match. I also added a pink ribbon an...

Glassine Bags

Hi Everyone, I have discovered a new love for wax paper now that I have discovered how to make these gorgeous glassine bags . Sometimes, I make cards that are a little bulky, due to the addition of embellishments ,or are too square for a regular envelope, and although I do have an envelope punch board, I love the opportunity these glassine bags give me to decorate and match the card I want to send within it. Here is a few examples of some bags I made: Glassine Bag #1- She Believed she could so she did This glassine bag is a combination of papers by Kaiser, Lattice Frameworks Die By Sizzix and washi tape. I also used my Martha Stewart Lace Punch to create a pretty lace pattern along the edge of the bag Glassine Bag #2- Alder Tree This design once again, uses various pattern paper from previous Kaiser collections as well as the Alder Tree Die from Memory box and the Arrow die from Technique Tuesday Heart Card Steel die. I also did a little bit of stamping using Me...
