Mixed Media Art Journal Layout ~ 2019~ Coffee is Better With Friends

Hi everyone, I am playing along with the It's a Brand New Day/ Coffee theme over at Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft . I found this cute coffee shop dimensional stickers from one of Aunty Vera's kits from last year and decided to build a story around it. This is your usual coffee spot in the 'burbs where good friends meet to catch up and exchange significant news since they had last seen each other.  It is situated just across from a park so when you look out of the window or sit in the back courtyard you see the beautiful blue sky and hear the lovely leaves rustle in the trees.  You have to agree that a good drink (be it coffee or tea- I love both) is better with friends. I felt like the letters needed to stand out more but didn't do as good a job with the shading. Next time, I'll use one of my charcoal pencils and not just my gel pen to do a quick job. You can find the process video  HERE Wishing you all a lovely da...

12 Tags of 2015- June Tag

Hello everyone, It's that time of the month again...no not THAT time of the month *lol*... goodness, such awful thoughts you all have...it's time to reveal to you my tag for June as inspired by Tim's 12 tags of 2015 challenge. Now, before I show you anything, I have to admit that when I first saw his tag..I went *GULP*..there is NO WAY I can reproduce ( I don't have that die) and my mind went straight to my smaller coffee die-cut set I bought at the craft fair last month. But I am lucky enough to have a friend who showed me her tag ( she also does not have the same die-cut that Tim uses) and she did such a good job. She inspired me to really give it a go with the materials I had at home. And I did and it's fabulous..I'm really glad I challenged myself to reproduce this tag almost to identical. So without further ado....I give to you Tim's Tag for June: And here is my replica attempt: Not bad - huh!! Here are some closer pics I wan...

Handmade Paper Clip Art

Hi everyone, I have been having an absolute ball making my own paper clips and book page markers. They are so easy to make and you actually end up using a lot of embellishments you didn't know how to add in your scrapbooking/crafting routine. My biggest challenge was finding 50mm paper clips!! I ended up finding silver ones at Officeworks and coloured plastic ones at Big W. My heart was really after the zebra paper clips but so far, no luck. Let me show you what I came up with: These were chipboard pieces by American Crafts which I have had for about a year now and I never knew how to use them because they were so chunky. They are perfect for paper clips !! I adore that bee!! Here is my favourite! I love these coffee themed wood veneers by Prima. So so cute!!! On the back, I placed a pretty button over the hot glue to make it look prim and proper. Next, I moved onto handmade items and I made them in categories. #1- Butterflys These ...
