#take5art ~ December 2018 ~ Brie's Prompts ~ Look Deep into Nature

Hi everyone, It's time for the #take5art December Challenge with Brie's Prompts. Brie is Documented Journey over on Instagram and Youtube This month the prompts she gave the group are: 1- Botanicals 2- Water colors 3- Green 4- Some kind of text 5- Ball point pen For this layout, I used my Open Road stamp set by Kaisercraft to create an Australian themed botanical layout. Absolutely love how it turned out. I adore there 3D eucalyptus leaf elements And the proteas arrangement in the corner The quote is by Albert Einstein - one I wholeheartedly agree with. Even Cadbri gave it his sniff of approval. I would love for you to check out my video process HERE . If this inspires you to join in, please do! Use these prompts and use the hashtag #take5art on IG and share your art with us all.

Creative and Not Too Neat ~ Darkroom Door stamp & Watercolor Techniques

Hello everyone!! Today Im playing with this red rubber stamp by  darkroom door  from the April Kit. The fact that it says 'you cant expect me to be neat' gives me permission to just sit and make a creative mess so I did! I cut up some 110gsm cartridge paper to a 4" x 5.75" size and I used my stamping platform to make a panel assembly line. Thisallowed me to get the stamping out of the way and just play afterwards. For my first lot of cards, I enjoyed splattering and dripping water color paint. For the next lot of card panels, I decided to create a window around the quote and once again apply a fine spray of black watercolor paint. Next, I decided to do a horizontal strip pattern  and once again accentuated with black splatter. Next I grabbed my masking fluid and applied it over the stamped quote and allowed it to dry naturally. Then I added a layer of black water color paint. Followed by white splatter. I then re...

12 Gorjuss Mini Paper Clips for 2018 ~ February ~ Reserved

Hi everyone ! Welcome back to the 12 Mini Gorjuss Paper Clips! It's February and it's the month of Valentine's Day so in honour of love, I chose this Gorjuss Mini Stamp to make February's Paper Clip. Her name is Little Heart and she is Stamp No. 57 I have already created an art journal page with Little Heart which you can find HERE and a process video for that which you can also find HERE Once again, I am using my jumbo 97mm paper clips  and created a canvas out of card stock to the size of 3.23" W x 8" H and folded it in half. In this episode, I once again used this 6"x 6" paper pad, and this set of Tim Holtz Mixed Media Thinly Dies So here is Little Heart all coloured in. I decided to put a wood veneer scalloped heart behind her. At the bottom, to ground her, I layered up some lace, ribbon and twine. Next, I want to show you the die-cut layered on top of the ombre pink / t...

TAKE 5 ART JOURNAL 2018 #take5art

So excited to be taking part in the #take5art journal challenge for 2018. I found this challenge when I came across Heba's YT Channel My Little Journal and was so inspired that I contacted Kyra Pace from Simply Creative Kyra  who hosts this challenge and asked if I could play along and she said YES! So here I am!! The journal I am working in is this blue and green watercolor art journal I made out of watercolor paper. If you want to make your own, I have a DIY video for you HERE This months challenge prompts are : * modeling paste * 3 stamps * text paper * Feather * Use Gesso through a stencil So because the feather was involved, I consulted by Color Almanac Vol 3 by Design Seeds and was attracted to this color scheme. Check out my video process which I will leave a link to below. I really enjoyed creating the modeling paste. It created amazing texture through this Kaisercraft stencil. You can also see some of the text I ad...

My Water Color Art Journal 2018 - TN- Evolve

Hello Crafty friends, I am starting my watercolor art journal 2018 series today! I chose to work in a traveler's notebook insert I made myself out of water color paper. If you want to make one yourself too and join in the adventure, check out the tutorial HERE . My color palette today is a combination of yellows, oranges and a touch of red. I also told myself that I was not allowed black and must leave white space. I broke both those rules within the first 5 minutes LOL So as I was editing my video, I realised I essentially added 5 layers to my layout and they are: Layer 1- Add Watercolor Layer 2- Add Collage Layer 3- Add Acrylic Paint Layer 4- Add Stencil and Stamps Layer 5- Doodling and Borders My collage element was this beautiful ephemera pack from Kaiser Craft "Golden Grove" collection. I felt this represented my word for the year which is 'EVOLVE'. I really enjoyed this p...
