Mixed Media Art Journal Cover ~ Today Yes You Can

Hi Everyone, I have finished one of my watercolor journals from last year and I just needed to go finish it off by working on the cover so that's what I'm sharing with you today.  I love the combination of yellow (fossilised amber and wild honey) with the peacock feathers Distress Oxides in the mixed media background. The stamp I used was Kaisercraft's 'Scrap Studio'. A paper doll (Tim Holtz) as the focal element plus a few pieces of ephemera from Echo Park's 'Just be You' die cuts which give this piece it's title. I also decided to do a little cluster of lace and ribbon overplayed with a butterfly in the bottom right corner which turned out so lovely in combination with her dress and the sentiment. Here is the front cover : And the back cover: It came together very quickly and Im so happy to be packaging this little journal off and sending it to it's new owner - shhhh it's surpris...

12 Gorjuss Paper Clips of 2018 ~ November ~ Find your magic

Hi everyone, The stamp I chose this month is No.2 - New Heights and for the paper clip design, I decided to go with the book theme already evoked by the image where the little gorjuss girl is standing on a pike of books. If you missed the art journal layout I did earlier using this stamp, please check out the process video HERE I started by stamping a whole lot of faux eco stained papers with my Kaisercraft script stamp One of these papers, gets glued down to the base of the paper clip, the remaining 3 end up with a hole in them. To do this, I poke a hole with my pen from the back to the front and curl up the edges (see video for a better explanation) I end up with 3 layers of torn pages to make it look like the girl is coming out of the pages. Next the Gorjus little girl goes on there and I have propped her up with 3D foam tape. To cover up the inconsistent paper sizes along the top and bottom, I added this colourful ribbon whi...

10 Christmas Cards 2017 - Embossing Folder, Ribbon & Veneer Charms Challenge

Hello crafty friends, Today I am challenging myself to use the following items from the December Kit from Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft. I need to sit down to make Christmas cards for neighbours and friends and every card I make MUST have at least an embossed feature, ribbon or a wood charm. The paper I am using today is card stock by American Crafts and the card bases are from this packI picked up at K-mart for $3.50! The embossing folder is a beautiful "garland" theme. I added Distress Oxides (Salty Ocean & Pickled Raspberry) to the labelled side of the embossing folder and really LOVE how they turned out. I then wondered how white Distress ink would look on a black background I also wanted to see how the Distress Oxide would compare on both white and black card stock  Distress Oxide Seedless Preserve: White Card Stock Vs Black Card Stock  Abandoned Coral and Seedless Preserve Distress Oxide on dr...
