Envelope Junk Journal ~ Flourish 'Maggie Holmes'

Hi Everyone, Today I am playing along with the Creative Design Team at Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft. This is the first project of the year, brought to us by one of the newest members Sue @Art, craft & journals here on YT.  Check her out and send her some love and support by subscribing HERE- https://bit.ly/2uaU3cf Sue's original Paper Bag Junk Journal Tutorial can be found HERE I was so inspired to make a junk journal that I dug into my Maggie Holmes Flourish collection (as I am still waiting for my Maggie Holmes Heritage order) and customised my junk journal by making it out of a large envelope.  Here are some pics of my beautiful 'junk journal'- I did try and choose colours close to the ones that Sue chose and I love how they turned out. You  can catch my tutorial on my YT channel  HERE Close ups of the cover And here is a look at the inside cover. I will be back with how I fill the ju...

Valentine Cards ~ Wild Love by Photoplay

Hi everyone, I am back to share some more Valentine Day cards.   If you missed my first set of cards, please check them out HERE. For this set of cards, my aim was to use the Wild Love Paper collection by Photoplay. Card 1- Hello Wild One For this card, I started with a panel of watercolour paper 4" W x 5 9/19"H . I used Distress Ink Tumble Glass and created an ombre background sky heavy on the bottom and light on top. Next, I used the Wild Love Paper.  I cut out a bigger panel of the blush side: 2" W x 5 9/19"H And a smaller panel of the green side:  1 3/4" W x 5 9/19"H I used baker's twine to wrap around a few times and then tied it into a bow. Next, I used the journaling card with the 2 teepees. I fussy cut this out and laid it on the bottom right side corner. Next, from the sticker sheet, I used the 'Hello wild one speech bubble' and a single pink heart sticker. And here is the fina...

Wild Love Mixed Media Valentine Cards

Hi everyone, As soon as I saw the cute critters in Photoplay's  'Wild Love ' paper collection, I knew that I had to make cards that featured them. I really wanted to make mixed media cards using the extras I picked up along with the core products (see my unboxing). So I grabbed these and my Ranger  Distress Oxides  as well as the  journaling cards     and the  sticker sheet   as main elements. One more element that I used to make the card front was this  Letter It card stock  from Ranger. I am delighted that it held up to mixed media and stamping use! Mixed Media Technique 1 - Stencilling and Distress Oxide For this card, I used the Kaisercraft stencil and 4 colors of Distress Oxide on the card stock (which I trimmed to 4" wide) : - Iced Spruce, - Salty Ocean, - Picked Raspberry, - Peacock Feathers, I then fussy cut the journaling card with the cute bear and attached that to the ...

Oh Holy Night ~ Tea Light Box Card

Hi everyone, After my successful milk carton filled with chocolate that ended up being a gift for my son's teacher, I was thinking about a gift idea to give someone who can not or does not like chocolate and I came across an awesome project on Pinterest and I thought, I can make that!! The picture I originally saw was this one and it inspired me to make a tea light box card to give to my neighbours this Christmas. There was no tutorial and no dimensions so I went ahead and made it up as I went. To make a card base Cut your card stock down to 8" W x 5.5"H. Along the long edge, score @ 3.5" and 4.25" The card will be 5.5" H. Next, cut 3 panels of pattern paper to 3.5" W x 5 2/8" H. I used the gorgeous angel pattern from the Oh Holy Night Collection by Echo Park  You will also need 2 thin strips at 3/8"W X 5 2/8" H. These are the inner and outer spine coverings. Adhere your paper panels to y...
