Hi everyone, Today I'm making some ATCs for my July Swap for my Aussie East-West Swappers Group. This month, it was my choice and I chose Steampunk. Yay! Let's do this! I started off using Neena Solar White card cut to 2 3/8" x 3 3/8". I started off my background by stamping a script stamp with Versamark Ink and then heat embossing the black embossing powder.  Next, I added Teal Dye Distress Stain making sure to leave some white space. Next, I added texture paste through a Kaisercraft Stencil. I added Firebrick Distress Stain to the texture paste. And then added drip page and well as more color to the background (swallowing up my white space). Next, I prepared my Steampunk elements. I grabbed some wood veneer cameras as well as a crown die and a cogs die-set which I cut die-cut elements with. These I embossed with metallic and golden embossing powders to give a metal effect. Hi everyone, I'm going to let you in on a little secret!!  I am a huge Harry Potter fan!! We are currently reading Order of the Phoenix at the moment and enjoying it thoroughly. So I am so excited to be bringing you a new series using Color Play's new collection Wizard World (a big thank you to Aunty Vera for my pre-order) ~ definitely inspired by Harry Potter. I review the papers in this pack as well as the card stock die-cuts and I show you my new Eileen Hull Journal die which I will be using to make a few H.P journals for the Potterheads in our family. Hello Crafty Friends, I am so happy that Autumn is here. Well, it's around the corner at least. I don't know about you but it's been an unusual summer and I am ready for some knits and I really miss my uggies!! Today's creative team design project is inspired by THIS gorgeous stitched leaves die in the Aunty Vera Scrap & Craft April Kit. Pic of Lawn fawn die I dug into my card stock and die-cut a whole pile of leaves using craft, brown, light and dark green card. I was then overcome by an unmistakable urge to create a wreath out of these leaves and I just went with it!! Watch the process video to see me make this wreath! I then wondered whether adding raffia to the wreath would look any good- so I made another one and it adds a whole different look to it! Hello everyone, So glad to be getting to this Art Journal Swap with my awesome friend Suzanne Johnson . This is my second layout in our book. You can find the first layout HERE The prompt for this layout are the bird die-cuts Suzanne sent me. I started off by collaging pieces of paper from my scraps using Modpodge, followed by a layer of gesso. Next came a layer of watercolors, followed by another layer of white acrylic paint softened with a wet cloth. From there, I fussy cut some flowers out of an old G45 collection of floral paper. I then set about stencilling leaves and stems and inking the edges and applying script stamping all over to make the pieces more cohesive. Next it was time for the die-cut birds. I coloured them in using my watercolors and then added them to the piece. The quote came from the G45 scrap paper I used. I finished off the edges with some Nuvo gold glimmer paste.
