Geli Plate Printing ~ Stamping, Paint and Ink

Hi everyone, Are you ready for another round of gelli plate printing? This time, I wanted to show that you could use your stamps in combination with your paints and ink pads to make amazing backgrounds on your  Gel Printing Plate .  The stamp I am using is this  beautiful red rubber Woodlands stamp by Darkroom door  in combination with the  Echo Park Woodland Stencil Check out  my first blog  and  YT video  to see a more detailed step by step process. Technique #1- Create an empty window This technique gives you 3 beautiful backgrounds to work with. To create an empty window to stamp in (if you do not want to stamp on the gel plate), brayer on a thin layer of paint or ink. Here, I am using the  Hero arts Winter Ink Cubes Next, place a piece of paper slightly larger than your stamp in the middle of the plate. Add the stencil on top of the paper Pull your first ...

Tags of 2015- October Halloween Edition

Dear Reader, Although I am not into celebrating Halloween, I am into completing this Tags of 2015 challenge that I have given myself so I can not back out of this one. To tell you the truth, I balked when I saw Tim's tutorial.  How the heck am I going to do that without any of those dies.  So you know what Im talking about, here is Tim's card.... But you know me (if you know me).  Throw yourself into this challenge- I told myself.  Why do something half-heartedly? If you want to do something, do it well - I say. So the first thing did was locate and print the picture of the front of the dies: I then, fussy cut them into layers as much as  I could by watching Tim's tutorial. I then started inking them up: Here is my zombie put together (after a good hour of working on him- wasn't easy!) Why make 1 when you can make 2 and give one to a friend: They are so awful! HA! I love them! So here is my tag ...

12 Tags of 2015- May Tag

Hello and Welcome Dear Reader, Firstly, my apologies for being a bit late with posting my May Tag!! It's not that I'm lazy. HONEST! I've just had A LOT on my plate lately. But I promise you, everything is slowly coming down to "acceptable crazy" levels rather than "all-out crazy busy". On with the show...here is Tim's Tag for May: I knew as soon as I saw this tag that my grandmother's passport picture, that I have had in my drawer not knowing what to do with it, was going to be the feature item here. I also loved the idea of having a fabric tag..this was going to be a GOOD ONE!! Here is how mine turned out: I would say this month's tag was more a collage type- use-up- your- bits- and-pieces tag than an actual learning- a- new- technique tag. But Im ok with that!! I have drawers of bits and bobs!! Just a closer look at my beautiful Nanna...Rest In Peace darling Nanna..we will be together soon God- Willing..... ...

12 Tags of 2015- April Tag

Hi Everyone, I have had such fun making this month's tag for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015 Challenge. Something about paint splatter, something about stamping, something about sewing all seemed to call to me and I found myself happily tag making for a good portion of the day. So on with the show. This are Tim's tags for April: See, even Tim had to make more than one!!! And here is mine: Of course I didn't not have a single thing that Tim used in this month's challenge (I never do) but I love the ability to compromise and go with what I've got. Here I used a flower set from Stamping' Up. And I did not have any distress markers so I used regular  water colours. I just love how it turned out.  The dies I used were We R Memory Keepers Album Made Easy Text Dies . And just look at that zig-zag stitching! I just love sewing on paper. It's my thing!! So I made another: Closer up:  And another one: ...
